NEW CAMBRIDGE HUB

We're creating a new, bigger Centre 33 hub in Cambridge to better meet the needs of local young people. Join our Building Stronger Futures appeal and help us transform lives.

A NEW SUPPORT HUB FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN CAMBRIDGE

Following the launch of the Building Stronger Futures appeal, we are thrilled to announce that refurbishment work has started on our new building on the corner of James Street and Maids Causeway.

For years, our much-loved Cambridge home at 33 Clarendon Street has been too small to support the number of young people who need our help. At the new hub, double the number of young people will be able to access support for their mental health, practical issues, and caring responsibilities, all under one roof. We will have space for group work, our partners (so we can make sure services for young people are joined up) and more one-to-one support.

We have been consulting with young people and are excited to be creating a new hub that is not just a set of rooms, but a warm and welcoming space designed with young people’s needs in mind.  Centre 33 opened its doors in Cambridge 45 years ago this year. 45 years on, and we remain committed to creating spaces where young people can get confidential support from a committed and experienced team.

We do still need your help.

Our funding has so far been focussed on the refurbishment work, but now we’re thinking about the detail. Plants, cushions, comfortable chairs, good lighting and more are on our wish list. We know these things make a difference to young people’s experience.

If you are ayoung person - don't worry. Our current Cambridge hub will stay open until the new hub opens later this year. There will always be someone to talk to.

We absolutely can’t wait to open the doors and welcome everyone in - but now we’re thinking about the final work needed to open and increase the support available. Could you fundraise or make a donation today to help kit out the space and open? Could you help get this exciting initiative over the finish line, and help transform the lives of local young people?

BUILDING STRONGER FUTURES APPEAL

the appeal

We've bought the building and we're busy creating a space young people need and want - but we need your help.

We have already raised over £2m to start the building work, but we still need funds to fully kit out and open the building. Every donation, big or small, takes us a step closer towards opening its doors. There are lots of ways you can help:

Donate - big or small, it all helps.
Fundraise your own way.
Ask your workplace to match your efforts.
Make your mark – sponsor a room or part of the new building.

Every contribution makes a huge difference to our work. Donate today or email fundraising@centre33.org.uk to find out more about getting involved.

The Building Stronger Futures appeal has been generously supported by funders including The Evelyn Trust, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Clothworkers’ Foundation, The John Apthorp Charity, Wolfson Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, Thalia WB Community Fund,  the Bernard Sunley Foundation, the Bradbury Foundation and The Britford Bridge Trust.

Centre 33 young person support

supported by sir stephen fry

We're delighted that actor and writer Sir Stephen Fry has endorsed our Building Stronger Futures appeal. We're incredibly grateful for his backing and completely agree with his words - early, open access support works.

Early support can have a lasting, transformational impact. Last year, over 90% of young people Centre 33 supported progressed towards their goals, over 70% had improved mental health and 85% of young carers felt less isolated.
