young carers
Centre 33 provides support for young carers who live in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
A young carer is someone aged up to 18 who provides regular care for a family member who is ill, disabled, has a mental health condition, or struggles with substance use.

YOUNG CARERS AND CENTRE 33
At Centre 33, we support young carers. Young carers are young people up to the age of 18 who provide care for a family member with an illness or disability, mental health condition or an addiction.
Their care responsibilities might include helping with daily tasks, providing emotional support or managing household duties.
As a young carer, have you ever:
• Felt lonely, left out and like nobody understands you?
• Been bullied or felt as though you don't fit in?
• Found school hard? Struggled to concentrate? Been unable to find the time or space to do homework? Been worried about moving schools?
• Worried about money and your household?
• Worried a lot? Felt stressed? Felt less confident?
You are not alone. At Centre 33, we're here to listen, support you and help you manage the difficulties of your caring responsibilities.

how we help
young carers
We are here to listen, support and help you.
Our friendly team will meet with you to come up with a plan that supports you in your caring role - this is called a Young Carers Needs Assessment. It's designed to understand your role, how it affects you and what support you need. Together, we'll create a plan to make sure you feel supported. We can meet at home, in school, at one of our hubs or online - you decide.
If you are aged 16-18, we can offer a Transitions Assessment to help you plan for adulthood. It looks at how your role might change as you move through life. We'll explore what support is available and help you make informed choices.
We may also be able to offer 1:1 support or group support, where you can meet other young carers, share experiences, and build confidence.
You can find a list of support services for young carers here.
We're here to support young carers and their families. Get in touch by emailing youngcarers@centre33.org.uk or calling 0333 4141 809.
