This spring we asked our supporters to pick a challenge, have fun and make a difference. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved in supporting and raising money for our services through this year’s Challenge 33 so far. You have helped ensure we can continue to be there for the young people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, who need our support now more than ever.

We launched this year’s Challenge 33 over the last two weeks, but activity will be ongoing throughout June. So, it’s not too late to pick a challenge, half fun and make a difference!

What is Challenge 33?

Challenge 33 ws set up in 2021 as a way for our supporters to have fun, do something creative, boost their wellbeing and and raise vital funds for our services. This year, we asked our supporters to pick a challenge, have fun and make a difference. Challenge 33 ran from May 23rd to June 5th and we asked people to take on a challenge around the theme of 33.

Our supporters dreamed up some really creative challenges this year. Let’s take a look at what everyone got up to…

Holly visited 33 Oxford Colleges in 3 hours and 33 minutes

Holly has dodged the rain, visited 33 colleges within her time limit and exceeded her target, having raised over £400. Amazing!

Hi! I’m Holly and I’m taking part in Challenge 33 this year, an annual fundraising event for Centre 33. Centre 33 is a Cambridgeshire-based young people’s charity that has helped so many young people, including me – from YC groups and trips to 1:1 MH support, I am so privileged to have had so much support over 6 years. Although I am at university (in the OTHER PLACE), I now volunteer, helping at online (and in person when I can!) groups and trips for Young Carers.

I can say from firsthand experience as someone who has been lucky enough to receive support from Centre 33, and as a volunteer, that the work Centre 33 do is genuinely incredible and life changing, and I would like to fundraise to help Centre 33 support even more young people.

Ashleigh sang and recorded 33 songs

Ashleigh has taken on not one but two challenges. She’s been singing and recording 33 songs over the duration of Challenge 33 and has joined her follow Young Carers Advisory Board members to create 33 canvases – more on that below! You can check out Ashleigh singing on Instagram and Facebook. She’s smashed her target and raised £280 – well done Ashleigh!

Hiya my name is Ashleigh and some of you may know I am a young carer for my mum. Although I help my mum all the time I do get times when I need a break, so I can do activities, with Centre 33, to give me time out of my day to day life, as well as someone to talk to, There’s always someone there if I should need it. So I have decided to join in with other young carers from Centre 33, to show thanks to those that help me, and to challenge myself/ourselves to do 33 of “something” to raise money, to help all young carers.
