a new support HUB in cambridge for young people
We're moving into a bigger Cambridge hub to better meet the needs of local young people. Join our Building Stronger Futures appeal to transform lives and create a new support hub.

A NEW CAMBRIDGE HUB for young people
Cambridge is one of the UK’s most unequal cities and many young people live in deprivation. Rising numbers of young people in the city are experiencing mental health problems. Cambridge also has large numbers of young carers and rough sleepers compared with national averages.
The need for early support for young people in Cambridge has never been more urgent.
Ever since our founding in 1981 we have grown as a charity and now support more young people than ever across the county. Our much loved Cambridge home at 33 Clarendon Street is just too small for us to meet the needs of young people.
We have bought a building on the corner of James Street and Maids Causeway which will become the Cambridge hub for Centre 33. It's in an excellent location for young people, just behind the Grafton Centre and opposite Midsummer Common.
We’ll continue to offer support for young carers, mental health and practical needs, but we'll also have space for group work and better back office facilities, plus the ability to host partners from across the sector ensuring more joined-up work for young people.
This will mean we can support more young people, and offer them a better service.
We absolutely can’t wait.
BUILDING STRONGER FUTURES
We’ve purchased this new building with the help of some very generous funding from The Evelyn Trust and The John Apthorp Charity and we have kickstarted the fundraising for a full refurbishment programme, but it will be a substantial task and we can’t do it alone. The new hub will:
• enable us to double the number of young people getting mental health and specialist practical support from Centre 33 and several other local organisations - all under one roof.
• provide an accessible, safe space on James Street, on public transport routes and designed for and by young people.
Please join us to help create a new Cambridge support hub so more young people can thrive. There are lots of ways you can get involved:
• Donate - big or small, it all helps.
• Fundraise your own way.
• Ask your workplace to match your efforts.
• Make your mark - sponsor a room or part of the new building.

Please do donate here if you are able. Every contribution makes a huge difference.
If you are a young person
Don’t fear – Centre 33 will still be open in Clarendon Street until we move. There will always be someone to talk to.
We’d also like to hear from you about what you want when you visit Centre 33. We want to understand what’s important to you. Please do complete our survey so we can ensure the design of a new building meets your needs. Its really quick and there are vouchers to be had!
